ALBANY - The city of Albany would get about $1.1 million more under the Assembly's plan to triple the amount of municipal aid proposed in Gov. George Pataki's budget plan, Democratic leaders said Monday.
Schenectady would get approximately $940,000 more than the $880,000 increase the governor has proposed, while Troy would get another $1 million.
Overall, Assembly Democrats want to add $100 million more to municipal aid, compared with Pataki's $50 million increase.
The increase, unveiled Monday, is the latest front in the annual budget tug of war between the governor and Assembly.
